/Pogled.info/ The state of the infrastructure in Pleven and its improvement is among the leading highlights in the work of the representatives of the “LEFT!” in the new Municipal Council in Pleven. The formation has the ambition to be a balancer in the local parliament and a generator and conductor of left-wing politics. This was stated to the media in Pleven by the municipal councilor from “LEVITSATA!” Boyko Todorov. Along with him, the coalition in the local parliament is also represented by Ivaylo Petrov and Lenko Todorov.
Rumen Petkov noted that “THE LEFT!” is the only formation in the Pleven Municipal Council that has clearly stated its priorities in the next four years and will insist on their implementation before its colleagues in the local parliament.
Petkov also commented on topics of a national scale with a reflection on local self-government, such as the state budget for next year. He described the project as “a disaster and a very clear outbreak of intellectual and managerial poverty” and pointed out that its authors have no intention of participating in the implementation of the revenue part. Examples of this include text items such as “budget, balanced, with other, non-tax revenues – BGN 4.8 billion.” – an example that will put Asen Vassilev in history with a negative sign.
Rumen Petkov is adamant that the adoption of the proposed state budget will put the municipalities in a much more difficult situation than the situation in the last 3 years. As an example, he pointed out that the increase in the minimum wage was not reflected in the municipal budgets. Already in January, the municipalities will be unable to make their basic payments and this will cause serious tremors, predicts Petkov. He also pointed out that with the changes in the electoral law, this time we have about 1,500 newly elected mayors, whose salaries are also not included in the new budget.
Against this background, where the promised additional funds for the municipal budgets are not foreseen, and there is no movement under the OP “Regional Development” and the Program for the Development of Rural Areas, 2.5 billion is voted for machines for the army, which will eventually arrive in 2028, from the USA – a country with a reduced credit rating and a catastrophic financial situation.
