The leadership of the BSP replaced the real “red lines” of the left in government negotiations with fake ones – 2024-04-12 05:51:22

/ world today news/ The summary of the decisions of the new coalition, although it looks like a stand of a “501 goods” store, still represents a certain cross-section of the understandings of the future coalition. These decisions can be viewed from the position of the various political forces, as each of them sought to preserve its interest and not deviate from the so-called “red lines”.

From the very beginning, the leadership of the BSP showed enviable cunning, replacing the real “red lines” of the left with false ones, the retreat from which could easily be justified with coalition partners or pressure from external factors.

Let’s see what the BSP leadership was actually able to NOT agree on:

Progressive taxation – one of the real “red lines” that should not be deviated from. This is the offer that deserved to be turned into a bet.

Belene NPP, for the construction of which the BSP organized a referendum. This “red line” of the BSP sank behind the nebulous wording “the need to build new nuclear facilities”.

Changing the way of subsidizing agriculturefor which hundreds of farmers have been appealing for a long time.

Normalization of relations with Russia. EU, USA, Great Britain, Ukraine, Turkey, North Macedonia, China, Japan, South Korea, Canada – the new foreign policy vectors. Not a word about Russia. Like it or not, Russia is a geopolitical reality, and the BSP’s attitude on the subject is subject to a congressional decision.

Reduction of VAT on medicines and food.

Family taxation and tax-free minimum.

One textbook per subject and the so-called

A large part of the accepted proposals of the BSP have their coincidences in the programs of the other parties, i.e. The BSP failed to include in the management program anything that would distinguish the party from the others in a strategic plan, and this will undoubtedly affect the next elections.
