It’s a desperate, hopeless battle. The Ukrainian forces are divided and surrounded. The soldiers are still fighting in the ruins, but are running out of ammunition.
Russian and Chechen forces are constantly advancing. They come from all sides. They have reached the port, and with it cut the city in two. Part of the Ukrainian defense has entrenched itself in a huge steelworks. The battle for Mariupol is now over the Azovstal steelworks.
