The Krakens fight for little success against the brave Ducks

The Seattle Kraken earned their 13th NHL win of the season in a stint with the Anaheim Ducks. It is the fifth consecutive success for Dave Hakstol’s team.

The first shot falls early. After just 33 seconds, McCann scored after a match-winning and accurate assist from Eberle to give the Kraken the lead.

With 6:53 minutes played, Seattle can push the lead to two goals. Wenneberg beats Ducks goalie Gibson and slides in for a 2-0 lead. Burakovsky does the prep work worth seeing with a pass through the legs of Ducks defender Beaulieu.

Then the Ducks are in luck as Sprong misses two big chances. First the winger hit the crossbar, then Gibson responded brilliantly on the break.

Anaheim then catches up and gets to the connect shot. After 14:16 minutes, Terry hits the power play through Jones’ legs to make it 1:2 from the Ducks’ point of view.

26 seconds before the end of the first third, Dunn restores the old gap with a well-placed shot to the top left corner – 3:2 from the Kraken’s point of view.

The ducks are left unrewarded

The Ducks start better in the second third: Grant is there with a rebound and makes the match a “one-goal game” again.

After 9:30 minutes it’s the Kraken’s turn again. This time they hit a rebound. Gibson can’t hold back a shot from Sprong, Beniers is there and scores 4: 2 for his colors.

The Ducks did not disappoint after that and once again showed their qualities in the power play. After Zegras’ pass, McTavish scores from an acute angle to rejoin – only 3:4.

With just under two minutes left in the second period, the Ducks rewarded themselves for their courageous performance. For the third time that evening they use the majority. Terry controls the puck behind the Kraken’s goal and plays a remarkable backhand pass to Henrique, who beats Jones from close range to make it 4-4.

After that, Anaheim is the better team, but can’t translate that into something countable. So the octopuses have the best end for themselves.

After numerous missed opportunities, the conspicuous Sprong strikes again. Donato blocks Shattenkirk, allowing the 25-year-old to turn around the turmoil in front of goal and score for 5:4.

The Ducks keep pressing, but Seattle’s Jones is unbearable. Stay to a tight 5:4 for the guests, who manage to keep pace with the Vegas Golden Knights and are still tied for second place in the Pacific Division.

Despite a strong performance, Anaheim is once again empty handed and remains in last place.

Jets don’t burn anything

The Winnipeg Jets lived up to their role as favorites in the duel with the Chicago Blackhakws and won 7:2. Kyle Connor comes up with a goal and two assists, Dubois scores twice.

The Vancouver Canaucks beat the San Jose Sharks 4-3 after overtime in a close game. Kuzmenkov scores the golden goal.

There is also overtime between the Ottawa Senators and the Los Angeles Kings. There, the Los Angeles favorite has to swallow the bitter pill early. Giroux scored after just nine seconds to make it 3-2 for the Senators.
