The French group Fnac Darty recently looked into the reliability and durability of the various products offered within its brands. An observatory which has now been offered for 4 years now and which provides a view of the seriousness of certain brands.
The study is done according to three main criteria: repairability of smartphones, reliability and availability of spare parts.

The first index corresponds to the repair rate combined with the availability of spare parts. Reliability is calculated by dividing the number of smartphones repaired or exchanged for after-sales service by the number of smartphones that are still currently under the legal guarantee of conformity.
The three criteria make it possible to obtain an overall score of durability and reliability established with a maximum of 200 points.
Fnac Darty looked into the cases of more than 40,000 customers, asking them why they had to repair or have their product exchanged.
Apple is positioned at the top of the ranking of brands offering the most reliable smartphones, with an average boosted by the 5 years of availability of its spare parts.
Samsung came second despite the spare parts available for 7 years with an average handicapped by a higher after-sales service return rate. Honor and Huawei follow in the ranking.
If Apple occupies the first place, it is also largely because the brand only offers a very limited number of smartphones on the market, which guarantees a certain mastery of spare parts. Apple’s only high-end orientation also has a lot to do with its position.
