The International Olympic Committee Modifies Age Limit for Short Track Speed Skating at 2026 Winter Olympics

Original title: The International Olympic Committee agrees to modify the age limit for short track speed skating at the 2026 Winter Olympics

The International Olympic Committee Executive Board passed a resolution on the 8th, agreeing to modify the age limit for short track speed skating at the 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics.

The International Skating Union has previously raised the age limit for short track speed skaters and has proposed to the International Olympic Committee to modify the age limit for the 2026 Winter Olympics. After the International Olympic Committee agrees, it means that athletes participating in short track speed skating competitions in the 2026 Winter Olympics must be at least 17 years old before July 1, 2025.

In addition, the Executive Committee also approved the 2026 Winter Olympics qualification system for speed skating on the same day, still continuing the relevant guidelines of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The 2026 Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics are scheduled to be held from February 6 to 22, 2026.
