In the Czech Republic, the number of people with a proven covid-19 infection increased more than a day last week, only on Mondays and weekends the increments were lower. However, according to the Ministry of Health, this does not mean that the epidemiological situation is deteriorating. Epidemiologists in Prague and the Frýdek-Místek district perceive an increased incidence of the disease, but without the risk of community transmission.
In Prague, the daily increments represent about a third of the national number, in the Moravian-Silesian Region they are about half of the capital. Last week, 35 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants were diagnosed in Prague and 60 in the Frýdek-Místek region. The national average is less than 16 new cases per hundred thousand inhabitants.
According to hygienists, most new cases in Prague and Frýdek-Místek are associated with large outbreaks. Less than a fifth of cases fail to connect with them. According to the ministry, the highest incidence in other cities is also reported in other countries due to the large accumulation of people and the number of events.

In the Jablunkov region in the Frýdek-Místek district, the connection between the outbreaks has been proven; according to the ministry, a further increase is expected, including diseases of the elderly. More than a quarter of them are new cases. “Local outbreaks are largely caused by asymptomatic cases or patients with a mild course of the disease. In localities with an increased incidence of the disease, the situation is under control, there is no intervention of vulnerable groups of the population, the number of hospitalized is not increasing, “assured the chief hygienist Jarmila Rážová.
The South Bohemian Region will ease the measures from Wednesday
White – ie without the risk of covidem-19 infection – is on the new map for the second time in a row in the Prachatice region, where the infection spread among agency workers in July. The Security Council of the South Bohemian Region therefore decided to abolish the mandatory wearing of veils indoors from Wednesday in the district. Newly, people will not have to have veils even in offices throughout the region.
“We currently have 140 cases of coronavirus in the region, which means 21.8 patients per 100,000 inhabitants. We therefore believe that we can abolish the mandatory wearing of veils, “said the director of the Regional Hygiene Station, Kvetoslava Kotrbová. She added that the recommendation now applies in the region – but not the obligation – that people continue to have veils in medical facilities.

New outbreaks in the Uherské Hradiště region: hospitals and weddings
On Sunday, there were 121 more people in the country with positive tests for covid-19, but the relatively low number was probably related to the lower number of tests performed. On Sundays, laboratories usually process about two to three thousand of them, compared to seven to eight thousand on working days.
Hygienists in the Uherské Hradiště region recorded two new outbreaks. The first is in the Uherské Hradiště hospital, where, according to its spokesman Egon Havrlant, thirteen people became infected. There are ten paramedics and three patients who lay together in a room in the rehabilitation department.

Another focus was the wedding, from which eleven people infected with covid-19 left, said Vendula Ševčíková from the regional hygiene station. “People in risky contact are being traced. We continue to monitor the epidemiological situation, “she added.
The numbers of those infected are probably not final, further testing is underway. The hospital wants to test at least a hundred of its employees.
