Vitrenko supported the decision of the members of the supervisory board to resign

Vitrenko does not regret the departure of the Nabsotev members. He says that they were appointed without competition and do not have the necessary education.

Head of Naftogaz Yuri Vitrenko replied to criticism of three members of the supervisory board of the company, who announced their layoffs.

According to him, they were appointed without a competition on the proposal of the embassies and did not have the necessary specialized education. At the same time, Vitrenko did not mention that he also received the post in Naftogaz without a competition, which is why NAPK demands to cancel his appointment.

Vitrenko believes that the new head of the NAC should be elected by the new supervisory board.

He added that the supervisory board should act in the interests of Ukraine, and not in the interests of their own or the interests of representatives of other states.

Former members of the Naftogaz Supervisory Board Claire Spottiswood, Bruno Lescois and Ludo Van der Heyden reason for his decision to quit called a bad relationship with Vitrenko.

As a reminder, the members of the supervisory board were against the appointment of Vitrenko as the head of Naftogaz. Then the Cabinet of Ministers removed them. They were later reinstated in office for up to six months.

The independent members of this body were outraged by such actions of the Cabinet and announced their resignation, but the government managed to settle the conflict with promises of a competition for the head of the NAC.

Recently, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced competition for four members of the supervisory board of Naftogaz… The members of the Supervisory Council must elect a new head of the NAC board by May 1, 2022.
