The government will not tighten the measures tomorrow, Babiš said

According to Babiš, Minister of Health Jan Blatný should come up with a proposal to tighten the measures on Wednesday. He reminded that the cabinet must also ask the House to extend the state of emergency, which is valid until December 23.

The fourth degree is now in force in the Czech Republic, but all shops and services remain open. Babiš did not want to speculate on Czech Television whether they would close in a possible fifth stage.

In the Czech Republic, the number of infected people has increased in recent days. For Saturday it was 5281, which is 1600 more than last Saturday. The reproduction number R is also growing, which is now at 1.2. However, according to the Ministry of Health, the number of hospitalized persons has decreased by about 350 compared to Friday. There are now 4484 people in hospitals, 592 of them are in serious condition, which is nine less than on Friday.

The index of anti-epidemic measures of the PES is already at 76 for the third day, but including the antigenic tests, which the Ministry of Health wants to take more into account in decision-making, the index is at 66, which corresponds to the fourth degree.

However, according to Babiš, the cabinet should discuss on Monday whether the Czechia will cancel air transport to Britain. There a new mutation in coronavirus has appeared, which is said to be no more dangerous, but it can spread much faster.

Flights have already been canceled by the Netherlands or Belgium, for example.
