The conscription to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is being reduced due to the increase in the number of contract soldiers. About it reported Colonel Valery Dendebera, head of the department for the organization of recruitment of privates and non-commissioned officers of the Main Personnel Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He recalled that under the spring draft includes 14,246 people. In particular, 6,500 people will be recruited into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 600 people will be called up to the State Special Transport Service, 4,646 people will be sent to the National Guard, and 2,500 people will be sent to the State Border Service.
Another reason for the decrease in conscription in the Armed Forces, he called the prevention of exceeding the limit values of the number of the Armed Forces.
“Consequently, fewer conscripts are being drafted into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while some other military formations, on the contrary, have increased their numbers,” Dendebera said.
He noted that during military service, conscripts will be able to receive a vaccine against coronavirus, since military personnel are among the priority groups of the population who are recommended to be vaccinated at the third stage of vaccination.
Also, upon the arrival of recruits to the military unit, observation activities will be held for 14 days.
Dendebera recalled that conscripts are not being sent to the area of the Joint Forces operation.
