The first training in Zandvoort was interrupted by a parked Vettel car. The fastest time was set by Hamilton – F1sport.cz

Formula 1 returned to the Zandvoort circuit for the first time since 1985, which has changed a lot since Niki Lauda won.

The circuit itself did not cause much problems for the riders in the first practice. We saw hours of Cunoda and Ocon and several off-track trips.

Sebastian Vettel reported problems with the propulsion unit (apparently MGU-K). He returned to the pits, but after a while he drove back to the track, where he had to park his car at the exit of the pits (but not after leaving the pits, but in a normal bike).

Vettel requested a fire extinguisher and tried to put out the fire inside the car. However, he was probably not very happy with the number of fire extinguishers or their type.

No one dared touch the car. A mechanic with a tester and equipment had to arrive. Only then was the car removed. The training was restarted after more than half an hour of interruption at 12:24.

We had the first times on soft tires and the first “fights”. The fastest time was set by Lewis Hamilton.

Júki Cunoda finished last, who was shut down by an unspecified technical problem.
