The iPhone 12 will not be unveiled for several weeks. However, several props manufacturers have already put online the first cases compatible with the standard iPhone 12 with a 5.4-inch screen. These protections offer a new look at the design of this new generation of iPhone. As expected, Apple drew heavily on the design of the iPhone 4.

An Israeli Facebook group of Apple fans uploaded several photos showing mock-ups ofiPhone 12 equipped with protective shells. Several weeks before the keynote, some props manufacturers have indeed already put their covers and cases on sale on Amazon. This is particularly the case for brands such as Ahabipers, Kenzou or ZtotopCase.

Apple recycles the design of the iPhone 4
To develop their accessories on time, manufacturers probably relied on iPhone manufacturing diagrams, provided directly by Apple. The cases are compatible with the compact iPhone 12 with a 5.4-inch screen. It should be noted that some cases produced place the Lidar scanner (the third sensor) on the back of the smartphone. Others rely instead on a dual photo sensor. The props obviously did not obtain precise information concerning the photo set up. This information does not in fact influence the production of the cases.
Likewise, the props did not obtain data regarding the notch width. It is therefore still unclear whether Apple will bet on a smaller notch this year or whether the iPhone X-style notch will be back once again. On the other hand, the cases highlight the angular metal frame similar to that of the iPhone 4. As expected, Apple recycles the design of its old flagship.
At last I heard, Apple has decided to postpone the launch of iPhone 12 until October 2020. Following the Covid-19 pandemic, the Cupertino company has indeed accumulated delays in its production schedule. The keynote presented by Tim Cook should therefore take place on October 13, 2020.
