“At the initial stage, a covid infection may have some resemblance to a banal viral infection, and then the differences begin. A common cold or acute respiratory viral infection is rich in catarrhal phenomena: the temperature may be low, but at the same time there is a runny nose, sore throat, aching muscles, “she said in an interview with the publication Ridus.
According to her, the mild form of COVID-19 is accompanied by other symptoms – for example, those who are sick feel a loss of smell and taste.
As for the timing, ARVI lasts from three to seven days, and then, if it continues, any complications are added.
“And with a coronavirus infection, the disease lasts up to 14 days. Often, as my patients say, this malaise lasts up to three weeks, ”said Romanenko.
“Seasonal flu starts abruptly, with high fever, severe headache, sharp pain in muscles and joints. In this case, the cough may or may not be. This ill feeling with the flu usually lasts a couple of days, rarely five days, and then relief should come, ”the expert said.
She recommends that when the first signs of a cold appear, self-isolate and call a doctor.
Previously “Days.ru” reported that coronavirus in Russia was detected in 4892 people per day.
