CHMI warns of strong storms. It will hit the east of the Czech Republic! MAP

While on Monday strong storms raged mainly in the western part of Bohemia, on Tuesday, according to meteorologists, they will strike in the northeastern part of Moravia and Silesia. Warning valid from 11:00 to 20:00 for the Olomouc Region (specifically Jeseník) and the entire Moravian-Silesian Region.

“A rare occurrence of strong thunderstorms with total precipitation of around 40 mm or hail is expected,” warns CHMI.

“Locally, torrential rain is expected with occasional distribution of small streams, flooding of underpasses, underpasses, cellars, etc. Hail and lightning can also be a danger. When driving in a storm, reduce driving speed and drive very carefully,” experts advise.

Warning of strong thunderstorms

According to meteorologists, storms and rain will accompany this whole week. On Friday, the tropics will hit the Czechia again, which will be replaced by a cold front. During the transition, another burst of clouds is expected.

“On Friday, August 21, and on Saturday, August 22, the highest daily temperatures in some places will exceed 31 degrees. On Saturdays, strong thunderstorms may occasionally occur when crossing the cold front. This is a preliminary warning, we recommend monitoring advanced weather forecasts,” said CHMI.
