The Distribution of TV Money in the 2nd Bundesliga 2023/24: Hertha BSC Tops the Table

“Do you want the Hertha look ahead, you have to turn the table.” This sentence was at least valid in the past season, which the Berliners finished bottom of the table. Now there really is a table in which Hertha has the top spot. We see the distribution of the TV money for the second division season 2023/24.

Unsurprisingly, the two relegated Hertha BSC and Schalke 04 receive the largest share of TV money. With 24.1 and 21.5 million euros, the clubs are of course still significantly behind the amounts that are distributed in the Bundesliga. After all, the climbers Heidenheim and Darmstadt receive 36.1 and 32.5 million euros respectively and thus bring up the rear in the upper house. FC Bayern is the TV leader with 90 million euros, which is about four times as much as Hertha and Schalke.

As in the Bundesliga, it is also the case in the 2nd Bundesliga that those who have been promoted receive the least amount of money. This applies to Osnabrück (8.4 million euros), Wehen Wiesbaden (8.3 million euros) and SV Elversberg (8.1 million), which gets the least as third division champions.
