Shin Tae-yong jokes about Temperamental Players: Punch!

Jakarta

Trainer Indonesian National team, Shin Tae-yong, joking about temperamental players. He judged that instead of pushing the opponent, it was better to punch all of them.

Indonesian footballers are often labeled unable to control their emotions on the field. They are often easily provoked by anger because of the opponent’s actions and it is not uncommon for the team to become a loss.

“That’s absolutely unacceptable behavior. I really don’t like it,” Shin said in his talk on the Sport77 Official YouTube channel.

“Pushing opposing players or fighting with opponents is absolutely not allowed because it can harm the team itself. Maybe because you saw the match against Thailand, huh, so talking about this?” he continued.

Shin then continued his conversation in a joking direction. According to the South Korean tactician, instead of having to push opposing players who could potentially get a red card, it’s better to just hit the opponent as well.

“So actually the push just got a red card, you better just punch it, beat it so you get crushed. Pushes can get us three red cards, that’s what I don’t accept. So, yeah, better beat it,” said Shin with a laugh.

Shin Tae-yong was also asked about the advantages of Indonesian players that South Korean players did not have. He explains that meekness is good, but don’t bring it into the game.

“Maybe I’ll just talk like this. The nature that an athlete should not have is too kind or gentle,” the former South Korean national team coach explained.

“Actually, you could say it’s an advantage, but it can also be a weakness in the field. To be a better team is actually not good,” he continued.

“It’s being taught that way (to be a bad boy),” said Shin Tae-yong with a laugh, who then demonstrated the fists.
