Achraf Hakimi will soon switch to Inter Milan. Now details of the supposed bargain deal are seeping through.
BVB would have loved to keep Achraf Hakimi after his two years on loan. “At some point we realized that we didn’t want to go there, we couldn’t go there,” said sports director Michael Zorc. It now also seems clear that the Moroccan will not return to Real Madrid and switch to Inter Milan for € 40m plus five million in bonuses. On Tuesday he should do the medical check-up at the Nerazzurri.
No buyback option for Real – Bayern and ManCity would have paid more
As the Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports, the current issue – apart from the medical check – is only to clarify payment modalities. However, an acceptable buyback option was never up for debate.
With Gianluca di Marzio, another Italian transfer expert reports that Real Madrid could have won even more for Hakimi. Both FC Bayern and Manchester City were said to be willing to pay 60 million euros. The “Bild” had recently reported that the Munich were not interested in an obligation because it would not fit into the system.
In Milan, Hakimi is expected to sign a contract until 2025 and receive a net salary of 5 million euros. A peculiarity that may have played a role in the transfer: a law in Italy enables clubs to oblige access from abroad with tax benefits. Inter therefore has to “only” pay around 7.5 million euros gross.
