Tanah Abang Market, Central Jakarta is full of visitors shopping for Eid needs. Visitors are even willing hustling regardless of the rules of maintaining distance during the Covid-19 pandemic that has not yet ended.
Even though they wear masks, visitors do not keep their distance from each other. The movement of visitors who shop at outlets is like a traffic jam.
This crowd of visitors took place in Block A and Block B of the Tanah Abang Wholesale Center, Saturday, May 1, 2021 yesterday. A children’s clothing trader in Blok A named Koyah (42) said crowd of visitors yesterday was unusual.
“Yes, maybe because of the holidays too. Then after the month,” explained Koyah, when met detikcom on location, Saturday (1/5/2021).
One of the visitors named Yanti (35), a resident from Cengkareng, West Jakarta, admitted that she was afraid of being hit by Corona due to the crowded conditions of the Tanah Abang Market. Even so, Yanti still insisted on shopping in Tanah Abang.
“Yes, afraid. I was can hesitate to come here. Yes how, very crowded, yes already here, want how again, “said Yanti.
The COVID-19 Task Force
Portrait of busy visitors on Saturday (1/5/2021) yesterday was in the spotlight Covid-19 Handling Task Force. Spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Wiku Adisasmito, asked for public awareness to stay away from the crowd.
Wiku recalled the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic, where the market was one of the potential locations that could lead to the Corona cluster. To that end, Wiku asked the regional task force so that the authorities really supervise the implementation of health protocols at Tanah Abang Market and other places.
“Both the Regional Task Force, law enforcement officials, and market managers need to maintain a conducive health protocol in the market. Increase supervision, especially before Eid al-Fitr,” said Wiku.
Wiku appealed to managers to maintain visitor capacity so as not to cause it cluster Covid-19 new. Managers are also asked to create a culture of queuing and implement health protocols at Tanah Abang Market.
“Maintain the capacity of visitors and provide places for washing hands. Cultivate lines so that you can keep your distance. Disinfect the area in the market regularly. Let us protect public health,” he continued.
On the next page, the Deputy Mayor of Central Jakarta, Irwandi, admitted that he had reminded the management.
