the CNLS once again supports the Fann hospital with a donation of equipment for the management of serious cases

As part of the fight against Covid 19, the National Council for the Fight Against AIDS has just donated equipment to Fann hospital again to support the care of the sick.

It’s the Dr Fatou Nar Mbaye Diouf, Deputy Executive Secretary the National AIDS Control Council (CNLS) which handed over this material to the Director of Fann Hospital, Dr Cheikh Tacko DIOP in the presence of Pr Bara NDIAYE Head of pharmacy at Fann hospital and Pr Oumar Kane of the intensive care unit.

The Deputy Executive Secretary of CNLS Dr Fatou Nar Mbaye Diouf explained that it is within the framework of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis program that this batch of equipment was acquired to once again support the management of serious cases hospitalized in Fann.

This is the second time that the CNLS has reinforced the Fann hospital with equipment in the context of this pandemic. The first batch of equipment was received at the start of the pandemic. A donation that allowed according to the Dr Cheikh Tacko DIOP, Director of the hospital, to solve many problems and which helped to calm the social climate which was beginning to be altered by the insufficiency of means criticized by the nursing staff.

In this new donation we find among other equipment, air humidifiers, digital oximeters, defibrillators, vital signs monitors, oxygen concentrators etc.

PRs Oumar Kane, Bara Ndiaye and Dr Cheikh Tacko DIOP Director of the Hospital all thanked the CNLS and its Executive Secretary, Dr. Safiatou THIAM for its constant support which is always timely.

Indeed, explained Professor Oumar Kane, head of the intensive care unit, “ Fann hospital faces this second wave of COVID 19 with a lot of severe forms. Fann Hospital is the reference service for the severe cases.

The Pr Bara Ndiaye, responsible for the central pharmacy of the hospital and also a member of the CCM, the coordination mechanism of the Global Fund believes that this donation of equipment, of vital importance, will bring breath of fresh air at the hospital and will allow better care for COVID 19 patients.

Remember that the CNLS drew up a contingency plan from the start of the pandemic to support the efforts of the State of Sénégal through the Ministry of Health.
