A better future through sport and youth

“Volleyball teaches you to be a better person, because it teaches you teamwork and putting aside individuality for the common good,” with these words the sports journalist Beppe Viola summarized the essence of volleyball that BigMat – a group that distributes materials for building, renovating and renovating – also shares and spreads, choosing to support the young people of Italian volleyball.

In fact, the little setters, spikers, centre-backs and liberos will be the protagonists of the match 5th edition of “We build for sport”: European social responsibility project by BigMat which, in 2024, supports volleyball players in the under 13 category.

BigMat will select 140 volleyball clubs throughout Italy who will receive, free of charge, for the 2024/2025 season, 14 uniforms consisting of a shirt and shorts from the Errea brand (the same technical sponsor of the Italian national team) to dress almost 2,000 boys and girls up to 13 years old.

Volleyball manages to convey fundamental values shared by BigMat: «In our opinion, the key to every experience is the team and the philosophy of volleyball is very similar to our way of interpreting the concept of the Consortium – he explains the president of BigMat Italia, Alessandro Cerbai –. As a Group we fully embrace the sense of belonging and responsibility that comes from being part of a team and it is essential to support activities that can convey these values especially towards younger people to whom, as a society and not only, we must convey positive messages and feel our presence and closeness. Sport teaches us to face challenges with confidence, relying on the support of a team that supports us and with which we can share successes but above all difficulties. “We build for sport”, as well as the partnership with FIPAV and the sponsorship of the National Youth Volleyball Finals, represent some of the pieces of our busy program of initiatives aimed at strengthening the link between sport and BigMat, between retailers and the territory to build a better future and society thanks to the partnership between construction, sports clubs and communities».

“Let’s build for sport” is a project, shared by the entire BigMat retail network, which well represents the involvement in the territories where the daily work of the sales outlets is intertwined with the lives of the customers: artisans, businesses, families and young people

BigMat is not only a sponsor but becomes a close partner of amateur sports clubs, important places of aggregation and training.

The sales points are, in fact, directly involved and come into contact with the selected sports entities and with the community that gravitates around the team, creating relationships and sociality.

BigMat’s support for youth sports is an act of closeness to the territory and an action of direct and concrete support: «Knowing that almost 2,000 kids will be able to play sports and have new experiences, also thanks to BigMat, is a real satisfaction”, concludes President Cerbai.

«Commitment, passion, collaboration and determination are daily life lessons that the little ones can learn through sport – also underlines Matteo Camillini, director of BigMat Italia and International –. Being able to help those who dedicate themselves to education of these principles is a social commitment that we carry forward with satisfaction. “Let’s build for sport” is a proven and successful project that also allows us to do so in Italy give back to the territories in which we operate by supporting sports activities that involve children and their families. With our resales we participate in the growth of each community and we are convinced that the closer entrepreneurship is to civil society, the more positively it will develop. Investing in young people and their passions, especially sports, is one of the best ways to donate and at the same time build a better future».
