It is a speech that may not go unnoticed. Indeed, Christian Leca, the president of AC Ajaccio, decided to take the floor, through a press release on the club’s website, in order to express the feeling of frustration that reigns within the Corsican club. Because AC Ajaccio feels aggrieved following the final end of the professional championships. 3rd on the evening of the 28th and last disputed day, the club therefore saw the accession to Ligue 1 pass under his nose when he was only one point behind RC Lens, 2nd. Christian Leca has therefore chosen to speak, after having respected the silence during the past few weeks, in view of the cacophony that currently reigns in French football. Leca thus declared, in this press release, that “The players, the sports management, the managers, the employees and all the supporters conceive a legitimate feeling of frustration, taking into account the remarkable sporting performances achieved during this season.”

He explains that the club have the best points average per game played in the return phase and therefore hopes that decisions can be taken in order to have a Ligue 1 with 22 clubs next season, in which AC Ajaccio will have its place. Leca specifies that he does not hope that Nîmes, 18th in Ligue 1, is relegated but that the ACA can be treated fairly and that if a 22-club format is adopted next season, the ACA will be there. Leca concludes by explaining that his club will not neglect any recourse so that the rights of the ACA are respected. The club has already submitted a brief to the CNOSF with a view to conciliation and hopes that before this body fairness, sports ethics and more generally common sense, will prevail.
