The Closure of Vincent’s Restaurant: Explained by Co-owner Emils Jakrins due to High VAT Rate and Decrease in Paying Tourists

“Vincenta” co-owner Emils Jakrins explains in a conversation with “Privātā Dzīve” magazine that the reason for the closure is

the high VAT rate for catering services and the decrease in the number of paying tourists.

As is known, the legendary chef Mārtiņš Rītiņš opened the “Vincents” restaurant in 1994.

On August 3 of this year, an announcement was made on the restaurant’s Facebook page. “We would like to announce that on August 26 of this year, the VINCENTS restaurant will cease its operations. Where one door closes, another opens – with this attitude and the feeling of a job well done, we look optimistically into the future. We will welcome everyone who wants to come again with us, have a fine dinner and enjoy Vincent’s special atmosphere. We would like to thank all our guests who have been with us all these years.”
