The City of Liège launches the “Blood you free” operation

The operation “Sang toi libre” is a pilot project of the City of Liège whose objective is to fight against menstrual precariousness among young people.

Intended for all menstruating people aged 12 to 26 living in Liège, “Sang toi libre” aims to make it easier to access quality period protection.

How? ‘Or’ What ? By distributing the equivalent of 3 months of personal protection free of charge.

From this 8 March (International Women’s Rights Day) at 8:03 a.m., a platform for making appointments will be available via the e-counter of the City of Liège’s website. Registration only takes a few minutes. Menstruating people can then choose a product from among 24 different protections (disposable or washable sanitary napkins, tampons, cups, disposable organic cotton pads, organic cotton tampons and panties

menstrual cups) from various brands.

After making their choice, they will be able to select a time slot and a pick-up location

among 5 distribution locations:

– Center J / Center MAdo, Boulevard d’Avroy, 5 – 4000, Liège

– Jupille Youth Center, Rue des Argilières – 4020, Liège

– Burenville youth center, Rue Panade, 2 – 4000, Liège

– Vennes Youth Center, Rue de Londres, 16 – 4020, Liège

– Bressoux – Droixhe youth center, Rue du Moulin, 244 – 4020, Liège

The menstruating person will then have to go to their appointment with their identity card and confirmation email (or order number). She will therefore be able to receive the intimate protection chosen for the equivalent of a period of 3 months, as well as a small guide to the rules whose objective is to inform and break taboos.

A satisfaction survey will be offered to them after the withdrawal of their order. This pilot project is part of a more global policy that began with the training of municipal staff active in youth matters.

People who do not have internet can also register directly at Center J.
