The Düsseldorf office for statistics and elections sent around 15,000 letters. The recipients are selected at random. You are then obliged to provide information about the apartments and the rental prices. The city wants to set appropriate upper rent limits – also for people who receive unemployment benefits and social assistance. The surveys of the owners take place regularly, the last one was in 2018.
