The chief minister was received in Payyannur with handloom mundu; Janasagaram came to Payyannur for Navakerala Sadas

Kannur: Praudojwala welcome to the New Kerala audience in Payyannur where Chief Minister and Ministers interact with people for New Kerala construction. In Payyannur, the first reception of the district, thousands of women and children from different sections of the society flocked from different parts of the constituency since morning. The streets of Payyannur were literally packed with people.

The chief minister and ministers were welcomed to the stage with flute playing by Johnson Punchakkad. The children were received with bouquets of flowers and handlooms. Albin Antony, a 6th standard student of Tirumeni St. Anthony’s School, presented a gift to the Chief Minister consisting of a photograph of Nava Keralam. The audience was inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Local Self-Government Minister MB Rajesh, Food and Civil Supplies Minister GR Anil and Sports Minister V Abdur Rahiman addressed the event. Complaints were received through specially prepared counters as part of the audience. 20 counters have been set up to receive complaints.

There was also a dedicated help desk counter to provide necessary instructions and token to those who come to lodge a complaint. The counters were set up with priority given to the differently abled, senior citizens and women. The complaints started from 8 am. Service was provided at the counters in a non-objectionable manner.

Education policy aimed at job-skill development is government’s objective: District Collector

District Collector N Devidas said that the aim of the government is to create a new education policy for the development of job skills by deviating from the old education system. He was inaugurating the Student Leadership Camp and Career Masters Training Program organized by Vocational Higher Secondary Section Career Guidance and Counseling Cell Jawahar Bala Bhavan.

The ultimate goal of the learning process should be to get a job. Vocational higher secondary curriculum aims at the concept of learning by doing. This can be done by organizing training programs to give direction to the children. The collector said that the children should choose the profession according to their own interests.

A two-day leadership training camp was organized for students selected from schools in the district. A career aptitude training program was also conducted for teachers in charge of career master. VHSE Assistant Director OS Chitra presided. Career Guidance and Counseling Cell District Coordinator Mathew Abraham, State Coordinator VS Santhosh, Program Committee Convener GR Abhilash, teachers, students from various schools and others participated.
