It’s a gruesome déjà vu: the surge of the wave of infections, overburdened intensive care units, lockdown. Not so long ago, in the summer, former Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) declared the pandemic for vaccinated people to be over. More generally, he had already done it the year before – a misjudgment, as it turned out both times. From Monday, Austria will once again go into lockdown.
