Residential building plots wanted.
(BZ). Considerable growth, high pace, big hits – that is the balance sheet of Bauverein Breisgau for 2020. Despite Corona, the cooperative has invested 33 million euros in the maintenance and creation of affordable housing, as announced by the board duo Marc Ullrich and Jrg Straub. A total of 146 cooperative apartments and 18 owner-occupied apartments were handed over, two day-care centers with 170 childcare places, a social station, a meeting center and a residential group for twelve people with disabilities were completed. In the past financial year, 1,100 new accounts were opened, and the cooperative manages 114 million euros in savings.
Rising construction costs, a shortage of land and a flood of requirements made living more expensive, says CEO Ullrich: “We want to develop even more cooperative housing projects. To do this, however, we need municipalities that can provide residential property.” Kirchzarten, Gundelfingen, Schallstadt, Gottenheim and Herbolzheim had recently sold properties to the building association. The development in Freiburg is observed intensively. “Cooperative living needs reliable framework conditions, which can above all be presented economically”, says board member Jrg Straub.
