U.S. Air Force RC-135 Electronic Reconnaissance Aircraft Photographed in Taiwan Airspace

The total aircraft interference continued, and a total of 4 sorties were detected by me from the morning of the 21st to the 22nd.However, on the afternoon of the 22nd, a U.S.air forceWhen the RC-135 electronic reconnaissance aircraft was flying through the northern airspace of Taiwan on an electronic reconnaissance mission, it met at visual distance with the civil aircraft flying back to Taiwan on the B591 route north of Pengjia Island. This is also the first time that a US military aircraft has been photographed and recorded by witnesses while operating in the airspace around Taiwan.

It is understood that although the US military aircraft’s trip was a routine regional patrol, its purpose was electronic reconnaissance, to collect electronic signals existing in the northern airspace and bring them back for analysis and filing, so that they can be used when there is a need for electronic warfare interference in the future. Although the RC-135 electronic reconnaissance aircraft can detect from a long distance, in order to collect complete information during its mission, it will still stay as close as possible to the source of the signal. When it is driven away by a shared aircraft, our airspace is the shelter space between Taiwan and the United States.

The Air Force stated that it can fully understand the situation in the airspace surrounding the Taiwan Strait and use joint intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations and respond appropriately, and will continue to maintain strict vigilance to ensure air defense safety.

With the electionDepartment of DefenseexposePeople’s Liberation ArmyTrends tend to be conservative. In the past, the dynamics of the U.S. Air Force were rarely announced. With the U.S. Air Force’s forthrightness in executing missions and the advancement of mobile phone camera technology, there seems to be a brief moment of clarity in the gradually foggy military dynamics around Taiwan. The U.S. RC-135 was patrolling in the air defense identification zone in northern Taiwan and was photographed by passengers of a passing civil aircraft. This was the first exposure of a U.S. smart electronic reconnaissance aircraft conducting patrols in our airspace.Picture/provided by readers
