The British band “The Tiger Lillies” – Music will perform at the new city festival without distance

In the new city festival without distance “Can! Be! ”, Which will take place on July 30 and 31 in the Riga cultural space“ Hanzas perons ”and“ Vasaras perona ”terrace, will also perform the British dark cabaret group“ The Tiger Lillies ”, supplementing the festival’s main artists program.

“The Tiger Lillies” is a musical association formed by the colorful singer Martyn Jacques more than 30 years ago, which has developed a unique style by mixing together cabaret style from the first half of the 20th century with a punk attitude and without taboo lyrics. Their performance always creates a wide range of emotions, and there is no doubt that it will happen again this time, when The Tiger Lillies has brought their latest program dedicated to the Covid-19 pandemic to Riga.

The failure of Britain’s most prolific musical association – flipping through the Tiger Lillies disco, which can contain 36 (!) Studio CDs and three audio cassettes – failed to stop even the pandemic, replacing the saturated concert schedule with intense studio work, resulting in four albums . Two of them were dedicated to the Covid-19 pandemic, maintaining the black and sometimes very brave sense of humor of The Tiger Lillies, as well as the ability to compose ever new melody groups in an unmistakable manner. Riga will be one of the first places where “The Tiger Lillies” or Martyn Jacques together with bassist Adrian Stout and drummer Jonas Golland will perform the concert program dedicated to the pandemic in a real concert with the presence of listeners.

At the festival “Can! To be!” In total, there will be three stages: on the “Summer Platform” stage “Being!” well-known artists will play music, but the indoor stage of the “Hanseatic Platform” will be dedicated to a more intimate and experimental musical atmosphere. There will also be a DJ stage “Night”, which will be dedicated to DJ sets of various musical styles for up to three at night. The full program of the festival will be announced, but it already includes such words as “Ewert and The Two Dragons” (Estonia) and Niklas Paschburg (Germany), but the local colors will be represented by the pop rock group “Carnival Youth”, jazz band “Very Cool People” , hip hop artist Ozols, singer Linda Leen with the band and electronic music artist Sign Libra.
