The Junta de Andalucía has decreed the perimeter closure of the 25 Cadiz municipalities that make up the Jerez – Northwest Coast and Sierra de Cádiz health districts.
The restrictions will affect Alcalá del Valle, Algar, Algodonales, Arcos de la Frontera, Benaocaz, Bornos, El Bosque, Espera, El Gastor, Grazalema, Olvera, Prado del Rey, Puerto Serrano, Setenil de las Bodegas, Torre Alháquime, Ubrique, Villaluenga del Rosario, Villamartín, Zahara de la Sierra, Chipiona, Jerez de la Frontera, Rota, San José del Valle, Sanlúcar de Barrameda and Trebujena. In these towns, starting at 00:00 on Friday, October 30, and until November 9, you will not be able to go outside the limit set by the municipality.
The Andalusian executive has adopted this measure at the gates of the bridge of Todos los Santos before the increase in the incidence rate that had been taking place in many municipalities of the two health districts, especially in the Sierra de Cádiz, and to avoid massive arrivals of tourists that could worsen the situation.
Throughout the week there have been statements by different mayors of the sierra demanding tougher measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic. The Cadiz capital has a rate of 147, Chiclana 124, in San Fernando the rate is 214, El Puerto de Santa María registers 226, and Puerto Real 156. No municipality in the Bahía de Cádiz – La Janda health district has been closed perimeter.
In addition, the Junta de Andalucía has not modified the start time of the toque de curfew, which is still from 23:00 to 6:00.
