The list of proper names vaccinated against the coronavirus continues to grow. The last to meet, the Bishop of the Orihuela-Alicante Diocese, Jesús Murgui, who received the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine in the past January the 8th.
The Bishopric has issued a release in which he explains that Jesús Murgui, who will turn 75 in April, was vaccinated together with the priests linked to the Priestly House from Alicante, since their residence shares a medical service with them.
They argue that whenever a vaccination campaign has taken place, such as the flu campaign, the bishop has also been summoned. And they put as an example that Murgui underwent the PCR test and He was confined like the rest of the priests when in the Priestly House, at the end of January, a coronavirus outbreak.
For this reason, they insist that the bishop “has not sought any favorable treatment” and that the protocol has been complied with prescribed at all times.
Health opens research
For their part, sources from the Ministry of Health confirm to Radio Alicante that will investigate if the bishop was on the list of priority groups and whether, therefore, it was appropriate or not to be vaccinated.
If you did it irregularly, Public Health will investigate the circumstances in which the vaccination took place, as in the rest of the cases of people who skipped the protocol and as explained by the minister Ana Barceló on Tuesday.
