The Belarusian authorities are restricting access to the border areas of Ukraine

“Temporarily restrict entry, temporary stay and residence in the border area within the boundaries of Loyeva, Bagrina and Hoinik districts,” the document said.

Temporary restrictions do not apply to persons traveling to the border area for work, to their own or their relatives’ place of residence, as well as in exceptional cases with the authorization of the chairman of the State Border Committee or his authorised.

As indicated on the portal, the day on which the ordinance enters into force is December 22nd. There is no mention of when the restrictions will be lifted.

According to information from the monitoring organization “Belaruski Gajun”, the movement of Russian tanks, trucks and soldiers from the central and northern landfills of Belarus, where they had been deployed so far, to the south – closer to the border with Ukraine – was recorded on Tuesday.

According to the commander of the combined forces of the Ukrainian army, Lieutenant General Serhii Neyev, the Russians have sufficient forces and means to carry out tactical operations on the territory of Belarus, and the level of military threats is growing.
