India Gets Hot Tail Insult of Prophet Muhammad

Controversy over the statement of party officials in India considered insulting Nabi Muhammad SAW keep rolling. Instead of subsided, the aftermath of the polemic actually made India’s atmosphere even more heated.

Summarized detik.comOn Monday (13/6/2022), a number of Muslims took to the streets to protest anti-Islam comments made by two members of the Hindu Nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal.

Nupur Sharma, who is the party’s spokesman, issued his remarks in a televised debate last month. Then Naveen Jindal, who is the media head of the party’s Delhi unit, tweeted about the same.

Their comments – notably by Sharma – angered the country’s Muslim minority community, leading to sporadic protests in several states.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party has sacked Nupur Sharma and Jindal for their controversial comments. The statement even caused a massive diplomatic challenge to Modi’s government.

India destroys houses of Islamic figures

Recently, security forces in India demolished the homes of a number of Islamic figures accused of being involved in the riots, which were sparked by insulting remarks about the Prophet Muhammad.

Leaders of the Muslim community in Uttar Pradesh state were ordered to vacate their homes before their homes were demolished.

So far, the authorities have detained at least 300 people accused of being involved in riots during demonstrations in Uttar Pradesh, on Friday (10/06).

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has so far not provided a statement regarding the house demolition incident and the arrests of those suspected of being involved in the riots.
