The Austrian Certification Mark: Styria Vitalis and the Green Haube

The Austrian certification mark awarded by Styria vitalis is carried by organically certified hotels and restaurants.

Graz (OTS) – Starting in Styria in 1990, the Green Haube has conquered state after state with fresh, whole-food vegetarian cuisine. Three of the total of 28 companies have been upholding a kitchen culture that stands for a sustainable kitchen philosophy with organically certified food for 30 years: the Bio Natur Resort Retter and the Bio Thermenhotel Wilfinger in Styria as well as Ortners Eschenhof in Carinthia.

The criteria checked annually stand for ecological, healthy, socially appreciative cuisine and culinary enjoyment. Aspects such as sustainable, careful handling of food, people, animals and nature are reflected in criteria such as organic certification or fair trade products.

Guests find this at every main meal a freshly prepared, consistently wholesome vegetarian menu that seduces with its creativity in taste. Grains such as millet, polenta, etc. as well as seasonal vegetables, combined with dairy products and eggs, are more than equal to meat dishes.

Today, perhaps more than ever, the signs point to authenticity, identification and interest. The Green Hood has arrived at the center of society.
