The art of making life bitter

Everything I know about making my life miserable I learned from two people, A. and O. Since neither of them was very intelligent and yet both had mastered this art, I came to the conclusion that making life miserable is a chore simple if you put effort into it. A. and O. weren’t smart, but they were tenacious in the art of being unhappy. By observing them, I learned the few rules it takes to live bitterly. I list them:

1) Focus on your failures. More than quantity, what matters is quality. Two or three big failures that you can say turned your life upside down forever.

2) A corollary of the above is that you should not count your blessings. Everything good that has happened to you, from a loving spouse to a well-rested job, doesn’t count in comparison to your failures.

3) It was not your fault that you failed. If you were to blame for your failures, you would have to analyze what you did wrong and learn from your mistakes. Fortunately, the culprits were the others, who resent you and tripping you all day. You do not need to change your behavior or do self-examination.

4) Obsess over your failures and the bad people who caused them. The ideal is that every morning, before breakfast, the following thought crosses your head: “How bad they behaved with me! They have ruined my life! ” You have a bonus if you are able to visualize with all its vividness the face of those who harmed you or the scene of failure.

Getting bitter is so simple, I can’t think of any other rule apart from these four. I trust that you apply them faithfully and become bitter well. Lucky!
