Television reprimanded for banned Gossip talk | TV

entertainment">Last month, Televizier decided to gossip not to compete for the Televizier star online video, because the program would be hurtful and insulting. Jan Roos and Dennis Schouten, who make the program, did not agree with the disqualification and went to court.

entertainment">They argued that they had long been admitted to the fight, having been on the website as a contender for four months. According to the rules of the election, this could no longer be messed with later. However, Televizier itself believes that this only concerns the titles selected by the jury.

Massive support

The program only had a chance when fans massively used an empty box at the bottom of the voting page to vote the two coarse-mouthed men in the competition. According to an insider, gossip even had the most votes in the interim. Televizier makes no statements about the number of votes, but denies that gossip would have been in front.

entertainment">gossippresenter Dennis Schouten reacts disappointed to the judge’s verdict. “I am pleased that the judge agrees with us that Televizier did not act correctly, but of course we wanted to get back in the election and that did not work out. I wonder if we should still want to win it. Because this was the largest public prize in the Netherlands, and has become the largest virtue prize because of this promotion.”

‘No beauty prize’

entertainment">On behalf of Televizier, editor-in-chief Jeroen de Goeij says: “Televizier is pleased that the judge has rejected all claims of RoddelPraat in summary proceedings. Televizier has previously acknowledged that initially allowing it on the Qualification List, and excluding Gossip Talk at a later time, does not deserve a beauty prize. The judge is also pointing this out. But the organization had good reasons to exclude the program after all and is pleased that the exclusion has now been confirmed by the judge.”

entertainment">The substantive judgment of the judge will follow later. The Televizier-Ring-Gala, without the gossipmen, is scheduled for October 14.
