The Art Museum will bear the name of Arlette Neyens in homage to the local journalist and artist

The Villa la Angostura Women’s Association, headquarters of BPW International, announced its fourth project in the town, consisting of the expansion of the “Sala-Museo de Arte Contemporáneo” inaugurated in 2012 on its upper floor.

Ten years after the presentation and declaration of provincial interest of the space, and in commemoration of the artist Arlette Neyens who in 2005 was awarded the first prize for the artist from Neuquén (Huirin Prize, BPN Foundation), the Museum of Contemporary Art and Fine Arts “Arlette Neyens”.

The room-museum of contemporary art on the first floor and housed samples of artists such as María Cristina Elorriaga, Dora Rosales, Arlette herself, and exhibitions of reproductions of Miguel Angel and Leonardo.

The Board of Directors of the local Association chaired by Kayleigh Ahlbach, with the support of Mrs. Olga Ahumada (President of the Argentine Federation of BPW) and Architect Marta Susana Solimano (President of BPW Buenos Aires) unanimously approved the new name for this museum, in commemoration and to continue the legacy of Arlette.

Thus, the “Arlette Neyens” Museum of Contemporary Art and Fine Arts, with seven spaces arranged according to aesthetic systems and styles, houses more than 60 works by artists such as Guido Ferrari, Kayleigh Ahlbach, Xavier Cugat, Alejandra Catafesta, Lucilda Walmsley, Matias Vivot, Matias Roig and Arlette Neyens. For the current exhibition, we must thank the private individuals who collaborated by lending their paintings that Arlette gave them and/or sold, and joined those that Arlette gave during her lifetime to the BPW-Villa la Angostura institution that today houses her museum. Also to the artists who participate in the permanent exhibitions of the different rooms.

On the other hand, the ISA (third project of the institution), will continue to function in the same area, being the training space of the institute.
