That is the reason for your dark circles

Enough sleep and still dark shadows under the eyes? That could be the reason!

Waking up every morning with a bright, awake look – that’s what we all want. But sometimes we even find dark shadows under our eyes when we’ve slept. The reason for this could be something completely different than tiredness.

Basically, the unsightly discoloration of the eyes is caused by oxygen-poor blood. Because the skin is very thin and well supplied with blood in these areas, blood vessels and veins in the eyes are easier to see than in other parts of the body. The less oxygen there is in the blood, the darker the skin looks. In addition to the typical trigger of lack of sleep, there are also many other causes of oxygen depletion in the blood.

Nourishing eye patches ensure an alert look.

These are the 3 most common reasons:

Wrong diet

In order to avoid dark circles, you should pay attention to a healthy, balanced diet. Reach foods that are rich in iron, zinc, vitamin C, and folic acids. Adequate water intake is also essential. It ensures that the skin is supplied with more moisture and makes the blood vessels more elastic. Above all, cucumber, watermelon, blueberries, tomatoes and beets ensure a radiant eye area. If you want to help a little, you can use eye creams or masks with hyaluronic acid and collagen. This provides a moisture boost and a plumping effect.

Screen rigidity

Working too long at the computer can also trigger dark circles. Because if we stare at the monitor or watch TV for too long, our eyes become dry and irritated – which in turn favors dark circles. The best thing to do is to switch off your PC more often and take a short walk in the fresh air! Since we sometimes cannot afford to take a long break from the screen, there are also a few tricks to take some strain off the eyes: Close your eyes for a few seconds and make circular movements. Or you can alternately fix a near and a distant point with your eyes open – give it a try!

Genetically conditioned

Some people just naturally have dark shadows under their eyes. But of course there is no need to panic here either. On the other hand, there are many different products with glycolic and azelaic acid that lighten discoloration. It is also possible to inject hyaluronic acid into the skin in order to lift deepenings in the area around the dark circles.
