Car manufacturer Tesla is considering a broader rollout of the upcoming update for its fully self-driving software, CEO and major shareholder Elon Musk reported on Twitter on Friday.
The car brand is expected to make the update available to a group of Tesla owners in two weeks.
In October, Tesla already released a test version of the so-called fully self-driving software. This upgrade was only available to a select group of ‘expert’ drivers.
The update would, among other things, ensure that the Tesla vehicles can steer better and accelerate without human intervention. This makes the software “completely self-driving”, according to the American car manufacturer.
Musk previously indicated that there may be a more widely available upgrade for the self-driving software at the end of this year. The data from the beta phase should make the system more robust.
