In the automotive industry there is a new “number one”, in fact Tesla has just outperformed Toyota’s competition, becoming, in just ten years (on 29 June 2010 it was listed for the first time on the Wall Street Stock Exchange), the car manufacturer with the highest value worldwide.
Tesla, founded in 2003 in San Carlos, California, by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning and consecrated by the visionary Elon Musk, arrives today, according to data published by the Bloomberg agency, at the top like new car brand with the most market value in the world. Thanks to a current profit that exceeds 3 percentage points and with a market capitalization that reaches 207.2 billion dollars, Toyota is exceeded, to date the world number one in this special ranking. The Japanese giant, founded by Kiichiro Toyoda in 1933, has to settle for the second position, with a total value still at 201.9 billion.
For the Californian company, growth continues continuously over the years, also proven by the fact that, not even a month ago, Tesla became part of the few companies in the world with shares that each have a value of one thousand dollars (to be precise 1.120). Compared to the debut on Wall Street, one 5.100% growth, which does not seem to know brakes, as reported by the famous Forbes magazine.
Despite the downward auto market in the last year and a Tesla electric car production that does not exceed 500,000 cars per year, Musk’s creature continues to collect positive earnings numbers and promises to grow, despite the historical moment related to Coronavirus, where global auto sales are expected to drop 15%.
Who does the credit go to? One might ask. Probably the answer is to be found in the person of Elon Musk, the histrionic CEO of the company made in the USA, able to guess in advance, compared to most of the competitors, the new possibilities brought by the market. The manager is active in various fields, such as that of spacecraft and satellites, with his company SpaceX which, just a few weeks ago, made 57 satellites of the Starlink constellation take off, created ad-hoc by the same company of Musk, with the idea of bringing the Internet connection at high speed all over the world.
