US electric car manufacturer Tesla’s net profit rose 131 percent to $ 331 million (CZK 7.6 billion) in the third quarter. For the quarter, Tesla delivered a record 139,300 cars.

The carmaker has its fifth profitable quarter and is approaching its first profitable financial year. The company’s revenue rose 39 percent year over year to $ 8.77 billion from July to September. Analysts polled by Refinitiv expected revenue of $ 8.36 billion.

Some experts doubt that Tesla will fulfill its ambitious plan to bring half a million cars to market in the whole year. The carmaker set it before the pandemic, and to meet it, it would have to supply 182,000 cars to the market in the last quarter.
The company’s shares rose 4.3 percent after the end of trading after the publication of financial results.
