Terrible accident in Giswil OW – child falls from a moving mobile home

On Saturday afternoon, shortly after 4:00 p.m., a young woman fell from a moving mobile home and was seriously injured.

The four-person mobile home was traveling in heavy traffic on Brünigstrasse from Giswil uphill towards Lungern. In a strong left turn, a door at the rear right opened while driving and a 15-year-old young woman fell onto the street. She sustained serious injuries. A doctor who happened to be present took over her initial care at the scene of the accident, supported by the rescue service 144.

Today Rega flew the young woman from the scene of the accident to a central hospital. The three other people from the mobile home were uninjured, and a care team could be called up for their initial care. The persons in the vehicle are adult family members of the casualty and an adult third person, all of whom live in Switzerland. The canton police and the public prosecutor’s office are now clarifying how this fall from the motorhome could come about. No information can currently be given.

Due to this accident, the Brünigstrasse between Giswil and Lungern was for about an hour traffic blocked, which led to considerable traffic jams on both sides. The canton police advise travelers with mobile homes that all persons in their seats must be secured with seat belts during the journey.
