Erik ten Hag reluctant to comment on rumors of a coaching deal Manchester United. The focus is now only on the Dutch Cup final.
Earlier this week news emerged claiming Ten Hag had reached a verbal agreement to become Manchester United manager next season. Ten Hag will be on a four-year contract.
However, MU still has to arrange a compensation fund to Ajax Amsterdam worth 2 million euros, which it feels will not be difficult to fulfill.
In the process of exploring for several weeks, Ten Hag has also presented his wanted players plus their coaching staff.
Now it is said that MU is just announcing officially about the appointment of Ten Hag. However, there is no sign of it will be done because MU also refused to comment.
Meanwhile, from the Ten Hag and Ajax sides, rebuttal after rebuttal always appeared. Finally, Ten Hag confirmed the issue of a verbal agreement with MU, in the middle of the Dutch Cup Final (KNVB CUP) press conference between Ajax vs PSV Eindhoven April 17.
For Ten Hag, Ajax’s preparation for the match is more important than thinking about MU. He also asked the media to ask about it after the Dutch Cup final.
In addition to the final, there is also a fight for the championship title Dutch League with PSV Eindhoven in five games remaining.
“Ajax players and I also always focus on the news in the media. For now the focus is more on me, but I am currently coaching Ajax and I will only answer that question,” he said. Erik ten Hag from Eurosport.
“I really want to talk about the possibility of becoming manager of Man United, but please if you have questions about Ajax, then I prefer to answer them. Or if there are questions about the Dutch Cup final, then I will answer them,” he continued.
“Going forward, I don’t want to talk about my future or anything like that.”
