Georgia now tells about the attack in an interview with the BBC, which is reproduced by The Guardian. She says she thought her sister Melissa was dead when she was dragged underwater by the crocodile.
– I heard her (Melissa journ.anm.) Scream and saw that she was dragged underwater by the crocodile. When I called her name without her answering, it dawned on me that she was really in trouble, Georgia tells the BBC.

Dramatic story
Georgia and Melissa are twin sisters, and come from Berkshire, England. The sisters have traveled together in Mexico, where they have, among other things, dived and volunteered.
– The adrenaline took over. Then I saw her body floating in the water, thinking, “She is no longer alive.” Then I grabbed her body, pulled it towards me and let her rest on my chest. She was blue, and I tried to revive her, but the crocodile followed us, so I hit it.
Big sister Hana has said that Georgia was also injured in the attack, but that she was later discharged from the hospital. Georgia describes the incident as an out-of-body experience.
– She fought for her own life. She fought hard and clung on, Georgia says of the twin sister.
In her latest update, from June 14, Hana wrote that Melissa is in good spirits. Hana wrote that blood poisoning is no longer a problem, and that Melissa has even managed to take a short walk to the hospital. She also wrote that her parents were on their way to Mexico.
