Participation in the 2026 World Cup? That’s what the PSG star says

Argentina’s soccer superstar Lionel Messi has at least opened the door a crack for another World Cup participation.

But: “I love to play football. I feel in good shape and enjoying it, I will continue. It seems a long time until the next World Cup, but it depends on how my career develops.”

Argentina’s world champion coach Lionel Scaloni had emphasized after the World Cup success in Qatar that he always kept a door open for Messi for the national team.

Messi also revealed that he only spoke briefly about the World Cup final with his French PSG team-mate Kylian Mbappe: “It was about the celebrations and what happened in Argentina after the triumph. That was it.”
