Telemundo and the Hispanic Federation open a helpline to answer your questions – Telemundo New York (47)

This Wednesday, Telemundo and the Hispanic Federation present a helpline in which health experts will answer all questions related to the COVID-19 vaccine in adolescents.

Hispanic Federation volunteers are ready to answer questions regarding inoculation at the local and national levels in Spanish.

The open line will operate from 7 am to 10 pm on Wednesday, June 30. Viewers can call 1-866-432-9832 (1-866-HF-HELP).

All people over 12 years of age can receive the vaccine, and many vaccination centers in the country and the region do not require an appointment, but if you prefer to schedule one, you can call the Hispanic Federation at 866-432-9832, or send a text message with the word VACCINE at 40649.

Vaccines have eradicated serious and life-threatening diseases like smallpox and polio in the United States and controlled other serious infections like measles, mumps, rubella, and tetanus, among others. They are more effective if everyone receives them. This is known as herd immunity.

COVID-19 vaccines are the most effective way to get our lives and our economy back to normal. The immunization did not bypass safety protocols or testing requirements. The experts worked around the clock for several months to develop, test and seek approval for human use through a transparent process.

Vaccines prevent most people from getting sick with COVID-19, but their greatest value is preventing serious illness, hospitalization, and death. Even if you do get sick, getting vaccinated can help reduce the severity of your illness and the chance that you will need to be hospitalized. It can also help keep your loved ones safe, as getting vaccinated will reduce the risk of transmitting COVID 19 to them.

There is no cost for the vaccination. If you have health insurance, you may be asked to provide your insurance information, but there will be no copayment.

Nor is legal immigration status required to obtain the vaccine.

If you still have questions, keep in mind that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continuously monitors vaccines for their safety and possible adverse events.

Stay connected with TELEMUNDO 47 on all our digital platforms to receive the latest information about the process.
