Jeddah Mental Health Hospital’s Director of Pharmaceutical Care, Dr. Ali Muhammad Al-Shaikhi on finding many solutions to the challenges patients may face through the development of digital infrastructure and applications in light of the great development of health services provided from the Kingdom in line with its ambitious 2030 vision, specifically that the hospital serves a large segment within the geographic scope of Jeddah and its suburbs, indicating that the hospital was one of the first beneficiaries of ministerial services in the delivery of medicines to beneficiaries via Saudi Post within 48 hours within the city of Jeddah and 96 hours in cities outside of Jeddah.

Al-Shaikhi continued on completing the addition of the mental health drug treatment service in Jeddah, which provided its services to 36 cities across the Kingdom, and the service provided by the Ministry of Health was benefited as a second Kingdom hospital to provide the service and the first in Jeddah, underlining that there are many programs that The hospital will see the light in the coming days, including a virtual digital clinic where a twinning between the pharmacist and the doctor is foreseen to provide remote service to the psychiatric patient, and the medicine will be dispensed directly through the nearest community pharmacy or delivered to the patient’s premises.

And indicated that if the patient is unable to use the applications, he is contacted through the hospital data and provides the service, as well as the hospital takes voluntary initiatives to raise awareness among patients and train them to use the applications, emphasizing the satisfaction of many auditors, medical staff and workers with the positive feedback in the delivery of pharmaceutical services through such applications.
