Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” in Seattle: Fans Dance to the Point of Earthquakes

As part of Swift’s Eras Tour, she performed at the Lumen Field Arena in Seattle on July 22 and 23. Over the course of two nights, the singer’s fans danced so passionately and the music played so loudly through the sound equipment that seismic activity comparable to a 2.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded.

The so-called “Swiftquakes” are comparable to the “Wildquakes” of 2011, which occurred when fans of the American football team “Seattle Seahawks” celebrated the spectacular touchdown of the player Marshawn Lynch, nicknamed “The Savage”.

But seismologist Jackie Kaplan-Auerbach told CNN that Swift fans were twice as active as Seahawks fans. The expert noted that the celebration after landing lasts for a few seconds and then subsides, but during the concert the movement is much more irregular.

Auerbach pointed out that the energy created from tumbas, music and active dancing can enter the earth and move it.
