The song “Colorful World” has just been released, the author and performer of which is 22-year-old Karīna Laugale. This song was produced and arranged by Jānis Bukums and Artūrs Liede, as well as sound engineer Kārlis Šteinmanis, but Jānis Bukums’ group helped to play it.
The song “Colorful World” is “about equality to a world in which we are each so different, but in its essence so ambiguously colored,” this work is applied for by its publishers from the Latvian Rock Music Association. “This song is made in the style of rock, which is very different from the singer’s usual range, and this is her first published work.” You could argue about the stylistics of rock, but now – judge for yourself…
Karīna Laugale fell in love with music from an early age – she learned to sing and play the piano. She graduated from the jazz department of the Riga Dome Choir School as a jazz vocalist, but is currently studying at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. Participated in various master classes with jazz and popular music musicians. Karina was one of the members of the group “Koukie Band”, which in 2017 participated in the first season of the show “X Factor”. She has also participated in various festivals in Latvia and abroad, such as “Saulkrasti Jazz”, “Ventspils Groove”, “Moscow Spring A Capella”, “Noorte Jazz Festival” and others. Every day, Karina performs both popular and jazz music together with various musicians.
