The 95th edition of the 2023 Oscars is getting closer and closer and on December 21st the list of artists aspiring to the Best Original Song for a Movie category was unveiled.
This will seek to award the best lyrics to a song created exclusively for a film, and there were 15 pieces that progressed to the next stage, thus tackling varied and internationally recognized artists.
The Weeknd, Lady Gaga and Rihanna are some of the artists who managed to survive the intense selection with over 82 finalists in the initial phase.
Both the finalists for Best Original Song and the rest of the Oscar 2023 nominees will be officially announced next January 24, 2023to finally meet the new winners March 12, 2023.

The list is headed by notable international artists, including Rihanna with her song “Lift Me Up”, a crowd favorite, as it also marked the return to music of the artist, who put her career on hold for more than five years .
Added to this is The Weeknd with “Nothing Is Lost”, a piece that drives the official soundtrack of “Avatar: The Sense of Water”, for many, the most anticipated film of the year.
